The what of Wahanda

Wahanda is a health, beauty and wellness ecosystem. In our ecosystem, you’ll find comprehensive listings of spas, salons and health centres all around the globe. You’ll also find a big pond of knowledge - everything you need to know about treatments, classes and therapies. So, if you’re wondering where your nearest spa is, whether to wax or shave, what to eat before yoga or maybe you’re just curious about colonics, at Wahanda you can gather together a scrapbook of everything you need to know and all the exciting spas and clinics around the world you want to try out.

Wahanda is a Native American word for “great spirit and creator”. We think it sums up our energy and passion for health, beauty and happiness.

What we’re not:
We don’t own spas.
We don’t manufacture cosmetics.
We’re just people who are passionate about wellness.

The why of Wahanda

Beauty is not just for women. Health is not just for young people. Whoever you are, Wahanda is here to help you make the most of what Mother Nature has given you.

We know that life can be tough. You’re not always super-cheerful, you don’t always get eight hours sleep and sometimes after a hard day’s work the last thing you want is to “feel the burn”.

We don’t want to tell you how to live your life - because we can’t. What we can do is show you an alternative. In fact, hundreds of alternatives - ways to stay fit and healthy, to be beautiful, to chill out and a few things you’ll want to do just for fun. So it doesn’t have to be a hard slog, with a whole world of wellbeing at your fingertips you can pick and choose as you please.

We also know that spas can be mysterious, intimidating places. What’s epilation? Should I bow to my yoga guru? When the therapist says to take my clothes off, does that include my pants? We love spas and we want you to love them too. That’s why you won't find us humming and chiming our finger-cymbals; we want to give you straightforward answers all those niggling questions and to put you in touch with other people who can tell you what they think too.

We want you to be the happiest, healthiest and most beautiful person you can be.

The who of Wahanda

A true labour of love, Wahanda was founded on Valentine’s Day 2008 by inspired veterans of lastminute.com and Yahoo!.

We’re lucky enough to have some great, high profile investors including the former engineering founders who built Skype, the investors behind last.fm and a former top executive of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
